Dark Chocolate Coffee Mousse

Dark Chocolate Coffee Mousse

When I say you can make a restaurant-quality chocolate coffee mousse in minutes, I’m not kidding. This pretty dessert is ready in 25 minutes, although you must chill it in the fridge for about an hour. It’s still ready pretty fast — I bet you take longer to get a store-bought mousse somewhere! And you know what? Making your own mousse feels good. So, here’s for that sense of accomplishment that keeps us motivated and cooking every day!

This dark chocolate mousse infused with just a kiss of coffee is ideal for special dinners with friends or family; it’s also so smooth and decadent that you can serve it on date night to set the mood for a romantic evening!

How to Make a Dark Chocolate Coffee Mousse?

To make this melt-in-your-mouth chocolate mousse, you’ll need chocolate, of course, and I’m more of a dark chocolate person than a milk chocolate lover, but you do you. Any type of chocolate will work. Dark chocolate is a bit more bitter, though, but that’s part of the dessert’s charm!

You’ll also need heavy cream, egg yolks, sugar and vanilla extract. We’re using instant coffee to give complexity to the mousse, and we’re not adding real coffee for a simple reason — you don’t want to water down the mousse. As a garnish, why not have fun with whipped cream, mini marshmallows and melted chocolate? After all, this dessert is all about having fun, so don’t be too serious about it!

What to Serve With Dark Chocolate Coffee Mousse?

This silky mousse is already perfect; you need not do much more to it for a lovely last course. Still, you can always enhance dessert with the right drink. For me, that’s a warm cup of mocha — again, chocolate and coffee working together beautifully!
